As we know, the stepper motor is an open-loop control motor which can be operate step by step through the frequency and pulse number of the pulse signal at a fixed step angle without cumulative error and can be widely used for angular displacement or linear displacement.
We make use of the characteristics of PM stepper motor with small volume and high speed. When equipped with the gear box, we get the super small step angle, which makes the motor show higher precision and smoothness in the rotation angle or linear displacement.

MOONS' PG15 series pm gearmotor can achieve a small step angle of 0.9 degree and 0.36 degree, and the step angle accuracy is controlled within ±0.126°.

For example, we choose a screw with a pitch of 0.5mm to convert the rotational motion into a linear displacement, the PG15 0.36-degree gearmotor needs 1000 pulses to rotate one turn to achieve a linear displacement of 0.5mm pitch. This means that you can control the line displacement of 0.5um by sending 1 pulse, and the position accuracy can be controlled within ±0.175um.
We are pleased to see the excellent smoothness of the motor while getting such small angle and linear displacement control effects. This seems to be a natural phenomenon, and high precision and high smoothness are always accompanied. Compared with the 20mm 8HY hybrid stepper motor, the PG15 has better vibration performance in the low speed range (<1rps).
